TongueTwister needs access to the microphone and speech recognition. Check under Settings → TongueTwister that both permissions are enabled, then restart the app once.

Your device doesn't have the chosen language installed for dictation. Add a keyboard for that language under Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards — iOS then downloads its dictation support automatically and the language becomes available to the app.

Just keep speaking a beat longer before you stop — after stopping, the app briefly waits for the final result. That extra time doesn't count against you.

The generator for personal tongue twisters needs iOS 27 and a device with Apple Intelligence. On other devices the app hides the tile — all 410 curated tongue twisters, the coach and the videos still work.

The automatic choice estimates your pitch — it's only an approximation. In Settings you can pin the clip set to ♀ or ♂ at any time.

From your accuracy, your completeness of the target words and your speed. In short: the more your tongue stumbles (and the braver your pace), the higher the knot. The “?” symbol in the app explains all the details.
